Darryl K Cartozian, A.I.A., C.F.O.

Darryl K. Cartozian, A.I.A., S.A.R.A., is an owner and Chief Financial Officer in the firm of Higginson + Cartozian Architects, Inc., graduating from the Arizona Architecture Institute in Architecture Technology and Construction Administration. As C.F.O. Darryl is involved with the day to day operation of the firm along with Dave Higginson in all aspects. Mr. Cartozian is a licensed architect in California, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, and soon in Arizona. Darryl is a Professional Member of the American Institute of Architects and the Society of American Registered Architects.

Mr. Cartozian has successfully completed many complex and aggressively scheduled multi-million dollar projects. Those recently completed include the Redlands California Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; elementary and middle schools for the Etiwanda School District; regional learning centers for the Riverside County Office of Education; community day schools for the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools; a large parking structure / physical fitness center for the Riverside Community College District; multiple funeral homes for Service Corporation International throughout the western United States; and numerous other modernization and commercial projects throughout southern and northern California.

Darryl has been actively involved with leadership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, The Boy Scouts of America, Helping Hands Foundation, and is a member of the International Code Council, Community College Facility Coalition (C.C.F.C.) and the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (C.A.S.H.) — serving clients, local school districts, and the community. Darryl is concerned about our environment and is currently studying to acquire his L.E.E.D.’s certification.

As everyone needs a break from the rigors of work, Darryl spends a major amount of his time off with his family and grandson. He enjoys reading, travel, snowboarding, fly-fishing, and bike riding.

David Higginson, A.I.A., C.E.O.

Mr. David Higginson, A.I.A., S.A.R.A., is an owner and the Chief Executive Officer in the firm of Higginson + Cartozian Architects, Inc. Graduating from The Phoenix Institute of Technology, he holds a degree in Architectural Technology and Construction Administration. He is currently completing his Business and Management Degree at the University of Redlands. He has also attended the College of Extended Studies, School of Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona, completing numerous courses in structures and advanced structural design.

Mr. Higginson is a licensed Architect in the States of California, Washington, Idaho, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and Hawaii. He maintains active membership in the American Institute of Architects, Society of American Registered Architects and the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (C.A.S.H.). He is currently in the process of obtaining his NCARB Certification and LEED AP. Certified through the Safety Assessment Program by the State of California Office of Emergency Services and participating as a commissioner for the California Board of Architectural Examiners, he donates a great deal of his time to help promote the health, safety and welfare of the public.

He has personally managed projects ranging in scope from small remodel projects to multi-million dollar school facilities. As CEO, he is actively involved in the day-to-day decision process of running the firm in conjunction with his partner and CFO, Darryl Cartozian, AIA, SARA. All aspects of the company from financial decisions, human resources, and marketing and construction administration of projects are equally shared by the two partners, each taking on certain clients and attending to their project needs. Focus to maintaining strong client relations and attention to service is his primary objective.
